A unique handcrafted material
Saleen’s wicker material is the result of extensive research and testing. This
unique cutting-edge plastic is polypropylene-based and is turned into a raw product
in a high-tech process to create something which looks and feels like a natural
product, but which has all the positive properties of a plastic: it is colourfast,
UV-resistant and waterproof. Saleen plastic is made in such a way that it can be
handwoven into baskets in keeping with traditional handcraft methods. It is also
free of the toxic substances used in traditional basket-making to tackle pests and
help the natural wicker to dry. |
